Equation of state for distributed mass quark matter

We investigate how the QCD equation of state can be reconstructed by a continous mass distribution of non-interacting ideal components. We find that adjusting the mass scale as a function of the temperature leads to results which are conform to the quasiparticle model, but a temperature independent distribution also may fit lattice simulation results. We interpret this as a support for the quar...

Hadron production from quark coalescence and jet fragmentation

Transverse momentum spectra of pions, protons, and antiprotons in Au + Au collisions at intermediate RHIC energy √ sNN = 62 GeV are studied in a model that includes both quark coalescence from the dense partonic matter and fragmentation of the quenched perturbative minijet partons. The resulting baryon to meson ratio at intermediate transverse momenta is predicted to be larger than that seen in...

Systematic Analysis of the Non-Extensive Statistical Approach in High Energy Particle Collisions - Experiment vs. Theory

The analysis of high-energy particle collisions is an excellent testbed for the non-extensive statistical approach. In these reactions we are far from the thermodynamical limit. In small colliding systems, such as electron-positron or nuclear collisions, the number of particles is several orders of magnitude smaller than the Avogadro number; therefore, finite-size and fluctuation effects strong...

Fe b 19 99 Analysis of reaction dynamics at RHIC in a combined parton / hadron transport approach

We introduce a transport approach which combines partonic and hadronic degrees of freedom on an equal footing and discuss the resulting reaction dynamics. The initial parton dynamics is modeled in the framework of the parton cascade model, hadronization is performed via a cluster hadroniza-tion model and configuration space coalescence, and the hadronic phase is described by a microscopic hadro...

Monopoles and hadron spectrum in quenched QCD

We study quenched hadron spectra with Wilson fermion in abelian gauge fields extracted by maximal abelian projection and in fields induced by monopoles on 163×32 and 123×24 lattices. Pion mass squared and quark mass defined through the axial Ward identity satisfy the PCAC relation. Gross features of the light hadron spectra are almost similar to those in SU(3) gauge fields if normalization is m...
